As the month anniversary of Harvey’s devastation on the southeast Texas coast and the Houston area in particular approaches, we reflected in a team meeting today how proud we are to live and work in the greater Houston community. During the height of the crisis our business’ emergency response plans were proven again to be effective and efficient. We had no disruption in our payroll services to our employees and clients, even as our VP – Resources, who oversees that operation, was evacuated from his home due to flood waters.
Our core leadership team provided aid and services in their respective communities through volunteer organizations like the Greater Houston YMCA and Houston Pets Alive. Grateful, knowing that our business processes were running smoothly, our team turned their energy to helping those in need around our neighborhoods. IPM offered special emergency financial benefits to aid our contingent employees in need who don’t get paid unless they work.
Our clients and consultants across the US and Canada were awesome in their outpouring of concern and support for those affected by Harvey, and we thank them. We were humbled by reports of significant donations being sent in from around the US in IPM’s name. As Hurricane Irma followed in Florida then Maria in Puerto Rico, IPM encouraged donations to the Red Cross knowing it would serve all of those affected by recent natural disasters, including victims of the devastating earthquake in Mexico. We’ve experienced several natural disasters across our service area in our 25 year history. We are again grateful to be surrounded by resilient and caring team members, who we affectionately call the “IPM Family” and are proud to support them in their efforts to aid both our local community and beyond in coming together, healing and rebuilding.
